Bali
Emerald rice terraces, cliffside temples and a coastline that shifts from surf breaks to black-sand calm.
Overview
Bali packs an entire continent's worth of scenery into one island. Inland, the terraces of Ubud and Jatiluwih fold into misty volcanoes; along the coast, Uluwatu's cliffs give way to Canggu's surf towns and Amed's quiet black-sand bays. It's an island that rewards slowing down — a few days is enough to see the highlights, but a few weeks lets you find your own rhythm between rice paddies, temple ceremonies and beach sunsets.
Best Time to Visit
April to October, during the dry season, offers the most reliable weather for temple visits, hiking and beach days. May, June and September are the sweet spot — dry but before or after the July/August crowds.
